The evolution of Jumbo Group’s presence on the Russian market

Salone del Mobile.Milano Moscow 2018 held at the Crocus Expo from 10 to 13th October 2018, closed with very positive results experiencing an uptick in trade attendees and proving again to be the most important quality furniture and furnishing accessories event on Russian territory.

For Jumbo Group, the 2018 edition featured the presence of four of the company’s brands: Jumbo Collection, Roberto Cavalli Home Interiors, Gianfranco Ferré Home and Etro Home Interiors.

The company’s participation at the event demonstrated that Russia is still an important market for the Group, even if the country’s recent economic performance has required a different approach to the market:

Our direct relationships with single-brand and multi-brand stores, which in the past enabled us to be present in numerous cities, have been greatly reduced, not only in Moscow, but also in other regions of Russia” commented Moreno Brambilla, Jumbo Group Chairman & CEO.

While trade has created difficulties, it has also fostered and strengthened relationships with architecture and interior design firms: “They have made the very intelligent decision of allowing us to dialogue directly with their customers, ensuring that we create total trust between our IDS (Interior Design Service) and the end user, giving us the possibility to provide a comprehensive service,” the CEO adds. “This new arrangement has given us more time to complete various projects, while also allowing us to receive more substantial orders, which sometimes include turnkey supplies for villas and apartments. With this in mind, we have continued to consolidate our collaborations with historic partners, which over the years have always provided us with exhibition spaces dedicated to our brands.”

The Group’s creative spirit has simultaneously evolved towards more contemporary, clean designs in formal terms, as Livio Ballabio, Jumbo Group Partner & Creative Director, explains:

“The change applies to all the brands, including both Jumbo Collection, our most classic line, and the fashion brands. This evolution is particularly evident in Gianfranco Ferré Home’s latest collections, made of furniture that are more essential and less elaborate in terms of décor, without betraying the deepest essence of the brand, expressing a style that is becoming more oriented towards a younger and business-oriented clientele”.
